late feb catch up

filling in the last half of February, pre-baby =) 

little buddy's class was challenged to read 1000 books during February.  as kindergarteners, they were allowed to read the words, be read to, or 'read the pictures', but there are only 8 kids in the class!  that's a lot of books!  buddy jumped right in with both feet, returning a 25-book list nearly every day.  and it paid off - even though she did a lot of flipping through books, the ones she chose to actually read seem to have pushed her over the reading cliff.  she's gone from laboriously sounding out words to reading 'henry and mudge' type books unassisted.  it's so fun to watch things click =)

happy Chinese new year!

g & g came to stay a week before baby was due.  we - ben in particular - were so relieved when they got here, since he'd had several very late nights the week before.  and of course, the kiddos were thrilled =)

one of the girls' favorite things lately is dancing to Suzuki book 2 =p  and more often than not, little man joins in ;-)
