feb 2013: the rest

some miscellaneous february activities:

i know, i keep putting up pictures of daddy and girls playing games, but i just love it =)

we got a certifikid deal awhile back, making for an affordable and fun treat on a chilly winter day

when you're 3 feet tall, those rings are pretty far off the ground =p
c's chinese school had a group ticket promotion to the 'lizards and wockets' game, as little sis called it (asian heritage day =p).  we got to go with our friends the Ms, as well as college friend j.  c had fun practicing her two-digit numbers and telling us who was ahead.  the game turned out to be quite exciting towards the end, but my favorite moment was lu's assessment of the cheerleaders:  'the people down theyah have no clothes on their bellies and i can see their underweyah!'  hard to argue with that ;-)

40 days for life had its annual prayer watch in front of the late-term abortion clinic a few towns north of us.  i found out recently that it is one of only four in the country.  a young lady died there a few weeks ago as a result of an abortion at 33 weeks, so there was a particular poignancy this year.  if you haven't given much thought to the issue, i encourage you to read this summary of the pro-life position.

we brought a friend with us, and with my big belly and the three girls, i think we were an object lesson in valuing children =)

finally, we wrapped up the month with a happy birthday to daddy =)

feb 2013: big mama

i guess most mommies' nesting instinct involves cleaning house, but mine seems to be getting caught up on pictures =p  so indulge me for a few more posts, so we'll be all set for baby #3 pictures =D

my friend j got all excited about taking pregnancy pictures for us, and since we really didn't do any the first two times around, i agreed - even though it seems very counterintuitive to have pictures taken when you feel at your most awkward =p  we did most during chinese school, which is why only sister the younger is represented.

the first two were outside on a cold and windy day, so excuse the funny look on my face =p

my favorite!

is that a new planet in the sky?

thanks, j!

feb 2013: surprise shower

our preschool ladies surprised me with a shower one thursday!  so sweet and thoughtful =)

the girls were just fascinated by mrs. w's cake pops =)

j made my favorite - pho!

mommies and the youngers

look mom, i'm ready to be a big sister! =)

goofballs ;-)

feb 2013: hearts, snakes and presidents

we took a trip into dc to see the Roads of Arabia exhibit, which was definitely worthwhile.  there were artifacts from prehistoric to modern from recent excavations on the arabian peninsula.  some of the neatest ones to us were from biblical times, bowls and platters from the reigns of darius and cyrus.  wonder if daniel or ezra might have touched one of those!  they also had a valentine's activity for kids with stamps from all kinds of languages, so there was something for everyone =)

at chinese school, each class put on a little presentation for chinese new year (year of the snake).  here's c and her class:

i somehow forgot about these dresses that my parents got the girls in china last year, but we got them out belatedly when nai nai came to visit the next weekend.  hurray for presidents' day =)

lunch with the twin ts and both families on the day off
and of course, valentine's day.  ben teased us for making such a big deal out of it, but it's somewhat inevitable when you have two craft-loving girls =)
making our necklace from The Day It Rained Hearts, gift of grandma and grandpa

preschool party

dinner with daddy - note, the girls dressed themselves up for it ;-)
