easter

like his oldest sister, s' first public outing was at easter (the day before in this case).  we enjoyed another beautiful day at our church's annual egg hunt.  (for fun, see last year's pictures at the same event)

it's so handy that s is long enough to fit in the bjorn already.  i think i had to wait till 2 or 3 months with the girls!

cracking open easter eggs never gets old!

waiting for the main attraction...

mr. p's tractor!

we also did the koolaid eggs and the resurrection rolls again.   here we are in nai nai's dresses on easter morning:

grandma #3 came for easter lunch

and last but not least, s after his easter midnight snack ;-)

faces: days 5-8

i don't think anyone need worry about #3 being under-photographed...

a present from my sisters =)

when we weren't busy staring at baby, nai nai taught the girls to play 'jian dao, shi tou, bu' (rock paper scissors), they did some ribbon dancing, and we took s' first trip to the playground:

happy days =)

my daddy and my boppy

s is still three and four days old in these pictures, and already he looks so much bigger in person!

give me some space already! ;-)

something about babies in carseats makes them look so scrunchable!

the homecoming

if glancing over and seeing s in his little bin next to my hospital bed was surreal, bringing him home was more so.  this little guy is really here to stay! =)

within hours we had our first visitor - miss j bearing bags of boy clothes!  good thing too, since ben has informed me that our 'neutral' yellow clothes are not acceptable ;-)  and my back is very thankful for the bassinet pieces she lent us, ours having disappeared somewhere in the move.

the two big sisters could not have been more excited:

anyone who has brought home a newborn has experienced this curious phenomenon: the older siblings suddenly and overnight (overnightedly?) become giants!  it's quite extraordinary =)  as if to prove the point, c singlehandedly put together our 300 piece puzzle the day we got home from the hospital.  her sister presented daddy with a card with all our names written in it.  a few days later, just before going back to work, ben took the girls to annapolis for a boat ride, and the lady waved the kids through, assuming they were under 3.  to which c said, 'daddy, that says TIC-KETS,' and ben said, 'um, no, they're not under 3' ;-)

a reminder that growth is always happening under our noses, even when it seems like everything goes in one ear and out the other - 'go brush your teeth - NOW', 'are you speaking kindly to your sister?', 'you better not get anything else out before you put these twelve things away', 'eat what you're given, be thankful for what you have', etc. etc. =p

'so neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.  for we are God's fellow workers.  you are God's field, God's building.'
- 1 corinthians 3:7, 9
