our two sets of friends from the apartment building teamed up to take us to a night market:

our last day was marked by a unique dining experience up in the mountains with some of the hsu family.  some of the dishes were unusual to the point of hard to appreciate =p, but all were exquisitely prepared and presented.  afterwards, we went for a walk around the grounds.

five weeks came and went!  overall, the kids became conversational in Chinese and said they wished they could stay longer, so I'll consider it a success =)  en route for home:
