in an attempt to finish the summer before we get to winter =p, the next few posts will be mostly photo galleries. ready, set, go!
we visited a small family farm called Firefly Berries on the east side of town at the end of july:
 |
| 2 1/2 pounds of raspberries were summarily dispatched of in a few days, minus one batch of raspberry ice cream |
 |
| currants - a bit tart to eat out of hand, but not bad on salad |

the Rochester version of a beach is a sandy strip on a man-made lake, but it serves the purpose if you happen to be 4 or 5 ;-) we ended up there after showing up at a city pool on august 6th, only to discover that it was 'closed for the season'!

i had some aspirations of going for a run with the stroller and the girls on their bikes, so i picked the paved Douglas Trail. i should have checked their tires beforehand though =p we didn't last too terribly long, but it was a fun outing nonetheless
i bought a book of 10 tickets at the beginning of the summer, thinking that surely we could go to the pool 3 times in a season. <ehh> (that's the buzzer) =p the day below was upper 70s, but the wind made it too chilly. the only real hot weather of the summer came after labor day, when the pools were closed!
