first days

I've decided to finish up june, then skip ahead to the present, catching up with july and august as I can.  sorry if you get a bit turned around, but there are too many milestones taking place right under my nose now!  so last two from june...

our first full day in Byron!  we'd camped out fairly comfortably on sleeping bags, and ben had procured us some groceries the day before, so we had breakfast on our kitchen stool and the one crate we'd brought in the car.  the girls could hardly wait to zip over to the park:

taken just steps across the street from our house
we didn't have any wi-fi because charter had neglected to tell us that their modem did not include a router, so we decided to check out the Rochester library to borrow their internet.  the library has a great kids area, with all kinds of little scenes.  the girls could have stayed there for a very long time =)
planting and harvesting veggies

ben joined us after his router-shopping trip, and we went down the street where it just happened to be the yearly RochesterFest:
our own personal welcome =)
there were quite a few kids' activities:

putting up their puzzle pieces

shh, don't tell anyone.. this was their dinner ;-)

watching the fiddling contest

lowes was handing out building kits.  this one, unfortunately, never came together, since the nails kept bending =p

c made a little planter
at three months and one week, s was practicing his grabbing skills:

still working on that roll!
we had to say goodbye to ah gong the next day, which made me teary.  it was such a blessing having a week and a half together.

so at the end of our second day, we'd found the park, the library, and the mayo buildings - still some of our key landmarks!
