ballet, birthday and bikes

later that afternoon, the girls had their first ballet class of this session.  they did a session last spring, but none since.  another reason g&g's visit was timed perfectly - the teacher only allows parents at the first and last classes.  maybe because it's too hard to resist taking pictures of those cute little aspiring ballerinas!

not much to report from friday, just the priceless sounds and sights of time shared and memories made.
grandma's favorite: bernie

that would be a 500 piece candy shop puzzle
on saturday, ben gave me my choice of birthday activities, and we decided to head up to frederick, md.  we'd never been, and it turned out to be a perfect choice for a beautiful day.  we strolled (or ran or skipped or hopped =p) around downtown, had a sushi lunch, posted a fish watch on the canal ('i see the big white one!'), and rounded it out with ben and jerry's.  mmm!

in case you're wondering, s was about three weeks at this point, and he had no objections to traveling by bjorn and having his lunch in a restaurant booth and his afternoon snack in the car ;-)

houston, we have lift off

grandma's glasses were in demand

for my birthday, i got some lovely stationery and a cute little foot ;-)

sunday was another gorgeous day, so after church, we let c skip chinese school and all headed over to lake frank with the girls' bikes.

we had a bit of time monday morning before g&g's flight, enough for some quirkling:

and alas, some goodbyes..
we can't wait to be within driving distance of st. louis, and to have a guest room for visitors (hint, hint)!
