jan 2013: of mice and men

that's right.. our cultural experiences in january consisted of george washington's estate and a pizza-peddling mouse named chuck.. ;-)

we were so thankful that nai nai and ah gong squeezed in a visit literally the day before ah gong headed back to taiwan.  we settled on mt. vernon for our outing, and though we got a late start and were only there for a few hours, it was well worth it.  it'd be a beautiful place to visit in the spring.

we wanted to do something fun for the girls one cold and rainy day, so we took our first visit to chuck-e-cheese.  might be our last too, if mama has anything to say about it ;-)  holy sensory overload!  the girls, especially c, did enjoy it though, and since we could barely spend our $10 worth of tokens, i can't really complain.  we even ran into some of our church/preschool buddies there!

note the position of the ball.. pretty much all of c's balls went straight into.. the gutter =p  guess we need to get a little bigger!

back at home, our mama guppy had been getting quite round and large, so we had separated her into the small tank that afternoon.  when we got home, here's what we saw:

what you don't see are the ones that she was consuming =p, and we quickly scooped her back out and were still left with about 20 babies.  the discovery channel in our own living room!
