lately, it's been hard to get chloe excited about going outside. she's more interested in staying home and reading books (obviously), doing crafts, puzzles, listening to her chinese cds, sorting/selling/trading/counting her candy, and so forth. even when we go out, she wants to 'go to a building' =p but the kid needs to get outside in the fresh air, whether she knows it or not, so we've been exploring some new playgrounds. good thing there are an extraordinary number of them available!
the south germantown park features a castle, a ship and all kinds themed play things. the entrance, guarded by a moat and a dragon, reads 'welcome princes and princesses!'
see any little faces?
captain lucy
everyone gets to drive ;-)
saucer swings - these are the coolest
lunch break!
the seneca creek park playground features recycled tires, in all shapes and sizes:
and our favorite - a zip line!
yesterday, we came across something unusual there:
yes, that is what you think it is
there's also a lake with beautiful foliage these days, and we took the trail down to the water. there was a high school biology class there, and they were wading out in the water with strainer nets to see what they could find. the girls thought the big wading boots were the funniest thing. the teacher brought over a few little fish for the girls to see, which was neat.
till next time!
